Señor Tequila is one of the many Mexican restaurants in Mount Pleasant but is both one of the most economical and one of the best.

Though restaurants like Señor Tequila abound in the Charleston real estate area, if you’re looking for good, cheap Mexican food, Señor Tequila should be a prime consideration. Whether looking for a quick eat or something suitable for a large group of people, Señor Tequila will please.

Located down Coleman Boulevard, across from Moultrie Middle School and in the same strip mall as Wild Wings and Bambu, Señor Tequila is in close proximity to the Old Village, a prime area in the Mount Pleasant real estate market, but is easily accessed from anywhere in the heart of the town. The only places that are far away are the neighborhoods down Highway 41 and Park West.

More important than location, of course, is food. Señor Tequila is very cheap and has an array of dishes that can feed many – the large queso is a massive serving fit for six if not more and costs less than 10 dollars. My personal favorite is their burritos, which are cheap but also a filling meal. Nachos are also a favorite, but almost all of their dishes will suit the palate of the discernible eater. Though Señor Tequila follows the tradition of most Mexican restaurants in the area of having largely the same menu as everywhere else, one gets the sense of finer ingredients being used in the production and a care in the making of the food that is absent from other locales.

Service is exceptionally speedy; you can easily order and get your meal in 10 minutes or less. With that speed and the quality of the food you’ll get, it’s hard not to come to Señor Tequila rather often. It is indeed one of my most visited restaurants, owing not only to the food but its prime location and service.

Finally, they do not fail to live up to their name. With a variety of specialty drinks and, of course, ample and tasty margaritas and Mexican beers, it is not hard to get a good beverage at this restaurant. Señor Tequila is by no means fine dining but the food has that down-to-earth taste that embodies a favorite locale. If you live in Mount Pleasant, you could very well see yourself eating here quite a bit.
